Find your path

You do not have to find the way alone.

If drugs or alcohol have taken more than you meant to give, Way Maker Recovery is here. We walk with men and women in Louisville through treatment that is honest, steady, and built for real life after the first step.

Way Maker Recovery — Find Your Path

There is still a way forward.

Care that fits a real week

Treatment that treats you like a person.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program gives structure without locking you away from the life you are rebuilding. You will sit with licensed clinicians, a small group, and a plan that is reviewed as you grow.

01

Evidence-based therapy

Individual and group sessions that look at the roots of use — trauma, anxiety, depression, and the habits that grew around them — not only the last relapse.

02

A safe, steady house

A compassionate team whose job is lasting recovery, not a quick discharge. You will be known here. That matters when the work gets hard.

03

A plan that grows with you

Weekly individual evaluations and a treatment plan reviewed each month, so the work stays honest and the next step is always clear.

What we hold as true

Recovery is not a short-term goal. It is a lifetime goal. We do not only walk you through treatment. We stay committed to the life that comes after it — work, dignity, family, and a faith that can hold you when willpower runs out.

  • Substance use disorders
  • Co-occurring mental health conditions, including trauma and PTSD
  • Licensed IOP and OP services
  • Trauma Recovery Program (TRP) woven through the plan of care

Trauma Recovery Program

When the use was covering the wound.

Many people who walk through our door are not only fighting a substance. They are carrying trauma, grief, or PTSD that never had a safe place to land. Our Trauma Recovery Program — TRP — sits inside the same treatment home as IOP and OP, so the work on addiction and the work on what happened to you move together, not in two separate worlds.

TRP

One plan, not two stories

Your TRP plan of care is written into the same golden thread as the rest of treatment: the problem is named clearly, the behaviors are defined in plain language, and the objectives are specific enough to measure week by week.

PTSD

Trauma-informed, not trauma-flooded

We do not ask you to relive everything on day one. Licensed clinicians help you build safety, name what still runs the day, and practice skills that lower the charge of memories, nightmares, and the urge to numb.

Care

Tied to real life

TRP work shows up in individual sessions, small groups, and monthly plan reviews. The aim is the same as the rest of Way Maker: a life you can keep — work, relationships, and sobriety that can survive a hard anniversary or a sleepless night.

Who TRP is for

Men and women in our IOP or OP track who are living with trauma symptoms alongside substance use — flashbacks, hypervigilance, shame, numbness, or a body that still thinks it is in danger.

  • Co-occurring PTSD or trauma-related distress
  • A history that keeps getting in the way of staying clean
  • A need for a written plan with clear, reachable goals
  • Willingness to do the slower work, not only stop the using

How the plan is built

After assessment, your clinician writes a TRP plan of care that connects diagnosis, problems, and goals so every session has a reason.

  • Problems named in everyday language, not only billing codes
  • Behavioral definitions you can recognize in your own week
  • SMART objectives reviewed as you move through IOP
  • Discharge planning that protects the gains when you step down
